Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) every 6 to 8 hours, or as directed by a physician. Children 6 to 12 years: 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 mL) every 6 to 8 hours. Children under 6 years: only as directed by a physician.
Shake well before each use and measure with a proper dosing spoon or cup.
Store between 15 and 30°C (59 to 86°F) in a tight, light-resistant container.
This is an over-the-counter medicine. Read and follow the Drug Facts label. Do not take for a persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma or emphysema, or a cough accompanied by excessive secretions, unless directed by a doctor. Do not use if you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). A cough that persists for more than 7 days, comes back, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache may be serious; consult a doctor. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
